Dr. K. Hemanth Kumar is a Consultant in Surgical Gastroenterology, GI Oncology & HPB and Robotic Surgery at Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road, Bangalore. He holds an MBBS from BMCRI, an MS in General Surgery and an M.Ch in Surgical Gastroenterology from PGIMER, Chandigarh, a Diplomate of the National Board in General Surgery, and is a Fellow of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons. His expertise includes basic and advanced laparoscopic GI surgery, surgery for acute and chronic pancreatitis, major liver resection, management of complex biliary strictures, laparoscopic hernia and reflux surgery, and coloproctology including cancers, fissure, piles and fistula surgery. He is also an expert in video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery. His published work includes the surgical anatomy of the vasculobiliary apparatus at the hepatic hilum as applied to liver transplantation and major liver resections.
