About the hospital

A tertiary campus inside a national network

The Bengaluru unit of the KIMS Group — a publicly listed network founded in 2004 that now runs more than twenty hospitals across five Indian states, and treats patients from over a hundred countries.

KIMS began in Hyderabad in 2004 and has grown into a publicly listed network of more than twenty hospitals across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Kerala. The Bengaluru hospital brings that network's tertiary capability onto a single campus, and runs a dedicated international patients programme with care managers, interpreters and airport-to-ward coordination.

  • Multi-super-speciality tertiary care under one roof
  • Dedicated international patient lounge and care managers
  • Robotic surgery across seven surgical specialities
  • Interpreter support and 24/7 assistance for overseas patients

The wider network

Every KIMS hospital in India, on one map

What this page calls KIMS Hospitals Bengaluru is KIMS’s presence in that city: two hospitals, at Mahadevapura and Electronic City. Those are the units we represent and the ones we send patients to. They are marked differently on the map below, and they are the only two branches badged in the list.

Everything else on the map is the rest of the group — KIMS runs 24 branches across 18 cities and five states. It is worth seeing, because a case is sometimes better matched to another unit and because that scale is part of why Bengaluru can be staffed the way it is. But being on this map does not mean we can arrange treatment there. Ask us and we will tell you what we can and cannot do at a given unit, rather than let a pin imply it.

  • The 2 Bengaluru hospitals we refer patients to
  • The rest of the KIMS group

Pins sit where KIMS places each hospital on its own map. Cities within about 40 km share one pin — choose it to list every branch there. Use the branch’s own page for directions before you travel.

What we could not confirm. KIMS gives the bed capacity as 1,000, of which 885 operational — but dates that figure to 30 September 2017, nearly a decade ago. The 1,000 total is repeated in current copy elsewhere on their site; the operational split is not.

International patients

What the international patients desk actually does

KIMS runs a structured programme for overseas patients that maps closely onto our own: remote consultation, a treatment plan with a cost estimate, visa support, airport pick-up, accommodation, treatment, and tele-consult follow-up once the patient is home. It is the only hospital on this list that names the languages it staffs and does not stop at "multilingual" — and the list is worth reading closely, because Bangla is not on it.

  • Visa and invitation letters

Visa support from the international patients desk, worked from the treatment plan once the remote consultation is done.

  • Airport transfer and arrival

Airport pick-up, then a dedicated international patient lounge and a care manager who is the family's single point of contact inside the hospital.

  • Language and interpreters

Professional interpreters in six named languages. Bangla is not one of them, so at KIMS the Bangla in the room is ours — our coordinator does the talking, in person, for the whole stay.

    EnglishArabicFrenchRussianSwahiliAmharic
  • Estimates, currency and payment

A treatment plan with a cost estimate before travel, so the money can be planned at the same time as the trip.

  • Insurance

    The hospital publishes nothing here

KIMS publishes nothing about accepting overseas insurance or billing an insurer directly. Assume you are paying the hospital yourself unless we have it from KIMS in writing for your case — which we will ask for before you commit to anything.

  • Accommodation

Accommodation is part of the published programme, arranged alongside the treatment plan rather than left to the family on arrival.

  • 24/7 assistance inside the hospital

Round-the-clock support from the desk, on top of our own Bangla-speaking cover.

The destination

Bengaluru — a practical city to recover in

Bengaluru is well connected internationally, mild all year round, and inexpensive to stay in for the weeks a recovery can take. For a family travelling with a patient, the practicalities matter as much as the hospital.

Well connected

An international airport with good onward connectivity from Dhaka.

Pleasant climate

A comfortable temperature through the year, which helps a long recovery.

Accommodation for any budget

A wide range of hotels and serviced apartments near the hospital.

Somewhere to breathe

Parks, gardens and places of worship for the family during a long stay.

Thinking about KIMS Hospitals Bengaluru?

Send us the diagnosis and the reports. We will come back with a specialist opinion and a written estimate from the hospital — and if another hospital suits the case better, we will tell you that instead.

We respond to every enquiry within 24 hours.
